Empire Imported Parts and Service was founded in 1970 by the
late Ken Moore, who had previously worked for Volkswagen since
1959. Initially a Volkswagen parts store and engine builder, the
business grew to become Polk County's leading Imported car repair
shop and parts store. In the late 1980's, Ken sold the shop to his son,
Kenny Moore who grew it into an 8 bay shop with 9 employees.
In 2008, Kenny hired Chris Walls, a former Technician at Empire,
to oversee operations as the Service Manager of Empire. Chris
attended Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama, where
he excelled in Leadership Education Training and rose to the top of the
corps of cadets winning numerous awards and accolades to include the
"Espirit De Corps" and numerous LET awards. He became manager of
Crispers Restaraunt in St. Augustine at 20 years old before making his
hobby and passion of car repairs, which began at the age of 12, a
proffesion. Chris moved to Winter Haven in 2005, after the birth of his
first child, and immediately set his sights on Empire as a Technician.
In 2020, Kenny sold the shop to Chris, and retired to enjoy time
with his wife, Carol Moore, and his grandchildren. Chris completed a
3,000 square foot expansion in 2023 to add an additional 5 bays to
include an alignment bay, making Empire a 13 bay shop with 12
employees. Today, Empire specializes in all European and Asian
imported car repairs and services, utilizing state of the art diasgnostic
equipment, and factory trained ASE certified technicians. We offer OEM
service and repairs at a fraction of the dealerships, thanks to sourcing
parts directly from OEM manufacturers and significantly lower labor
rates than our dealer competitors.
